Kirin School of Arts grows the best musicians and dancers of today’s generation. School director, Jung Ha Myung (Bae Yong-Jun) has just returned from his trip to the a sister campus and is personally overseeing the auditions. Everyone is excited to take a shot at the chance to study at Kirin, which molded their idols – except for Go Hye Mi.
Go Hye Mi (Bae Suji aka Suzy of Miss A) feels that her talent is more deserving of Julliard than Kirin High. However, the debt collectors, desperate to get back their money owed by Hye Mi’s dad, forced Go Hye Mi to audition anyway. She auditions with her side-kick Yoon Baek Hee (Eun Jung of T-Ara), assured of being accepted. But to her horror and disdain, the director rejects her (Hye Mi) and welcomes Yoon Baek Hee. He also gives Baek Hee an amulet for good luck, to boost her self confidence. The incident destroys their friendship beyond repair.
However, Hye Mi, together with 2 other people have been specially scouted by the director and ended up attending Kirin’s probationary class. One of which is Jin Guk (Taecyon of 2PM) who always saves her during terrible situations. Jin Guk is a talented dancer who can easily rival the best dancer/singer in the audition – Jason (Wooyoung of 2PM). To ensure that their special admission goes through, Hye Mi travels to the country side to get Song Sam Dong (Kim Soo-Hyun), who immediately falls for the rude, snooty but pretty and incredibly talented city girl. He follows her to Seoul and vows to protect her. They were later joined by Kim Pil-Sook (IU) who was demoted after she failed to achieve the weight loss required despite her stunning audition.
A fierce rivalry emerges from the remains of Hye Mi and Baek Hee’s tattered friendship. Hye Mi is fighting to stay in Kirin to prevent the debt collectors from exploiting her sister and Baek Hee is trying to prove that she can eclipse Hye Mi. With the incredible amount of talent in Kirin, will the four misfits manage to step up their game and prove that they belong here?
